Eating Culture of Spring Festival-Fish


民以食为天。每逢过节,饭桌上都会出现很多传统食物。这些传统食物除了带给大家味蕾上的满足以外,还拥有着美好吉祥的寓意。“鱼”作为饭桌上的一道大菜,也是年夜饭中必不可少的食物。鱼有着很多吉祥的寓意,如年年有余,连年有鱼,大吉大利,富贵有余等。下面,我们来看一些春节期间出境率比较高的鱼的菜式。

Food is a necessity to live. With a prosperous festival right around the corner, there will be a variety of traditional dishes that appear on our tables. For these delicious traditional dishes, it’s not only satisfying our taste buds but also bringing good omen to the new year. Fish will be a significant dish in our feast, and will be prominent for our New Year’s dinner. Fish has symbolic meanings, for example, have a surplus of fortune year after year; whether it may be money, relationships or good luck, the fish that swims through the rivers of our lives will start at the table. 松鼠鳜鱼

“松鼠鳜鱼“被评为江苏十大经典名菜。将鳜鱼油炸后,浇上番茄酱,糖,醋等酱汁。这道菜成菜后,形如松鼠、外脆里嫩、色泽橘黄,酸甜适口, 松红木香。

‘Sweet and Sour Mandarin Fish’ is awarded as one of the ten famous Jiangsu dishes. After frying the mandarin fish, drizzle it with hot sauces made from ketchup, sugar, and vinegar to bring out the aroma and your dish will be ready to eat. The cooked fish is colloquially translated as ‘squirrel fish’, and it’s crispy texture will melt in your mouth as you chew into its delicate meat. The orange color, the juxtaposing sweet and sour will leave your mouth watering for more.

古早味,是台湾人用来形容古旧的味道的一个词,也可以理解为“怀念的味道”。早期化工食品产业不发达,料理做法比较单纯,以简单的调味料料理食物,不精致但料好实在。

The ‘ancient early taste’ is a phrase that taiwanese people use to describe an old traditional flavor. You can also say ‘a taste in the past’. In early ancient china, the food industry was undeveloped, and people only used simple sauces (soy sauce or vinegar) to cook the dish. It’s definitely not delicate, but simple that would make the whole table satisfied.

水煮鱼是一道家喻户晓的川菜。水煮鱼的前身其实是出自重庆的火锅鱼, 风行一时。1983年,在重庆地区举办的一次厨艺大赛上,一位川菜厨师凭这道菜获得了大奖,使其发扬光大。

Fish Filets in Hot Chili Oil is a well-known Sichuan Cuisine. The dish comes from Chongqing hotpot and is welcomed in the present. In 1983, there was a competition of cooking skills conducted in Chongqing, and a cook from Sichuan won a big prize of making this dish world famous.
